19A History

A reader requested our record in Unit 19A, so I dug up some stats. I think this is all of the bucks we've guided to in 19A, but I'm not 100% certain. The older stats were kind of jumbled up. If I find anymore bucks I'll update this list. As you can see we've had pretty good success in 19A with most of the biggest bucks being taken in recent years!

Eli,Thanks for the info. I have already booked with PGS for 19A muzzle. Looks like were going to have to help increase that average.HA!

Very interesting to see the scores so much lower in the draw hunts that in the auction/raffle hunts. I know you obviously kill the biggest ones before those draw hunts start, but I thought there would still be some bigger bucks to be killed during the draw hunts.

There are now. Those hunts were several years ago before the boom hit.

Also, during the draw hunts, the pressure from the others hunters can cause the big bucks to congregate on ranches where no one is allowed to hunt. The auction hunt offers no such obstacle.

For instance: This last season, even after all three auction/raffle hunters killed their bucks in 19A there were still two or three bucks taken during the rifle/muzzle loader hunts that scored over 90 and there are probably still bucks over 90 living up there that got onto private ground and survived the season. In the past there was maybe one or two 90-inchers living up there per year, so if they got onto private land there were relatively few giants to go chase during the draw hunts.
